Nigerians are often full of this idea of "the country is not ready enough for this innovation or another" the question I ask is when would it be ripe enough? and no one often proffer answer to that. And funny enough we have the desire to develop.
From my past experience of leading people if you keep asking people what they want, the country would never grow because everybody would push for what favours them. You can't always please all people as an individual and as a leader.
A closer look at the Fuel Subsidy analysis, if proper care is taken on the part of the government, it would be of benefit to majority of Nigerians esspecially students. But the same are the quickest to criticize. several times, the prices of goods have risen to a great extent and we survived then what makes you think we can't survive now?
to make Nigeria great is a collective responsibility and not the responsibility of one man. we all have sacrifices to make. if this is the sacrifice, why don't we make it?
Labour are often quick to strike, to me its just an avenue to provide rest for the lazy ones because a reasonable Labour should reason with the government not instigating the public against it.

Nigeria Today and Tommorrow
It’s a great challenge to me writing this piece. Definitely, am among that group of people who were not even born when Sir, Tafewa Balewa the first Prime Minister received the flag of freedom. Beyond photographs and video clips taken in the first republic, I would never have an idea of what the founding fathers of my nation actually look like.
Am among that crop of people who were not born when the first coup was executed in 1966 or the civil war ended in 1970 but I count myself privilege to among those who can chronicle the history of the nation with the largest number of black people living together.
Many share the idea that Nigeria in the Pre-colonial era is better than Nigeria today. Doing a comparison of the leadership in Nigeria during the Pre-colonial era and today, I realize that those who assumed the seat of power were not only true selfless personalities they also had a genuine love for the country unlike what we have today. These men fought tirelessly even under oppression and victimization which they suffered from colonial rule until the colonial administration started to show signs of imminent collapse in 1923 when it permitted the first election into the legislative council. With these, I cannot agree more with this group of thinkers. Lekan Balogun a former senator and front-line politician in Oyo State who witnessed the commitment of these founding fathers is one among this crop of people who believe that had Nigeria been run with the same level of commitment by those who ruled thereafter, the country would by now be in the league of the world’s leading nations.
“…at last our great day has arrived, and Nigeria is now indeed an independent sovereign nation” were the words of the Prime Minister Sir, Tafewa Balewa in his address to the nation when he was given the flag of freedom 51 years ago. Today, there isn’t any formula we can use to measure positive progress in our nation owing to bad governance by those who apparently were the youths of the old man’s favorite quotes- “those good old days”.
As I write this piece, series of questions almost conquer my thoughts. Such questions as where these nationalist actually good fathers to this prodigal leaders? Were they while pursuing their nationalistic endeavor camouflaging their real selves? Did they alter their nationalistic principles of selflessness and go back home encouraging their children to continue in this selflessness or did they return to tell them “ensure you reap all that I have sowed and sow nothing in return”?
Negative answers to this questions would prove wrong and/or right statements such as that of Sir,T. Balewa “… I dedicate my life to the service of our country” and the national pledge to which they all take at assumption of office.
“…it has been through and Nigeria now stands well built upon firm foundations” the Prime Minister furthered in that Speech apparently encapsulating the feelings of optimism and confidence in the Nigerian State and its government by the nationalist and other political elites. But were these foundations truly strong or where did we break the strength of the foundations? One would quickly remember Gen. Sani Abacha’s style of governance which earned Nigeria a Pariah status among The Committee of Nations, United States, Canada, European Union, Commonwealth Group of Nations and United Nations all imposed sanctions on Nigeria. This was the state of affairs until the man I refer to as ‘The Special one’ died in Aso Rock on June 8, 1998.
These sanctions may have bothered Nigerians less compared to the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential elections won by M.K.O Abiola believed to be the freest and fairest elections ever held in the Nation by the Babangida administration. These shames of the past may have bothered Olusegun Obasanjo less as what was of more importance to him after his 8 years woeful reign was his third term bid. He got what he deserved through those who were not only hungry for power but also tasty for power even though they ended up not tasting of it as the greatest political team; People’s Democratic Party, and its manager got the job done their way by creating a bridge between it and the Prof. Maurice Iwu foundation and passed through the bridge to rule Nigeria with late Alh. Musa Yar`Adua who didn’t last his tenure and like a relay passed on the barton unto a lucky son of a farmer whoose patience has helped so much; apparently she’s his wife so shouldn’t she? All thanks to her even though that patience wouldn’t help Nigerians fight jthe Boko Haram menace. Free and fair elections having been his only achievement so far and the completion of the amnesty programme started by his Boss to appease the angry Niger-Delta youths who politically militated against his administration due to under-development of the oil stricken arena owing to bad governance and corruption from bad leaders. Bad leaders I call them, apparently, the leaders of today are the youths of yesterday; the children of they that fixed the foundations of this nation in ‘those good old days’- how good the days were, I cannot tell, but I can tell that the leaders were nationalist.
The rascal of our leaders today has eaten deep into the youths of the nation. This brings to my mind the dress code of the Minister of the Niger-Delta, James Olotu at the inspection of the Niger-Delta Power Holding Company Facilities just recently. While talking to press men at the nation’s national television, the man flew the collar of his polo T-shirt. What ordinarily the Lagos street boy would do. What do the youths who are watching learn from this? I remember my elder brother saying that politicians are ‘agberos’. The arrogance of our age, coupled with the arrogance of our leaders influence the youths negatively hence, building a corrupt work force and presumably, leader of tomorrow.
While Segun Olusola former Ambassador to Ethiopia and founder African Refugee Foundation has high hopes building it arround the fair elections of president Jonathan, Adedotun Abolarin, The Orangun of Oke-Ila believes our future is bright; Lekan Balogun former Senator and front line Politician says we should avert a revolution.
However, the Americans have predicted that the country is heading towards division in 2015; Hope Harriman an Industrialist and Estate Management Practitioner shares his own idea. In his own words, “this may sound absurd, but the founding fathers of Nigeria had no Vision”. Absurd indeed. Tanko Yakassai, Politician and Elder statesman notes that good leadership is the way forward.
Here the question arises. Can the Nation get the kind of leadership that would transform it from the current breed of youths? Before you answer, you realize that today the youths are of two classes. ‘those with political interest, and those without’. While most of the ones with political interest are labeled diabolical and corrupt when trying to place themselves in positions to fight against the wiles of the wild ones especially when considering the out play of both physical and spiritual powers they are also labeled irresponsible. Those defined as responsible are those with the least interest in politics. Diabolical, irresponsible, and/or corrupt these are the politically inclined and possibly, bound to pilot the affairs of this nation. What do we make out of this set of leaders? The earlier we realize our stand, the better for us.
I shall end this piece by stressing that we the youths in general (whether politically inclined or not) must change our orientation especially towards the state of affair of our nation. We should kick away every spirit of ‘I don’t care’. The present leaders may be bad, but one day it would be our turn. To utilize this opportunity well, its time we realized our nation needs us and deserves good governance hence, we should change lour ways of thinking. This we must do to ensure progress, justice, harmony and unity and above all, rekindle confidence amongst our people.

Unsung Psalms
There would be psalms sung by a choir
I would have a white robe a halo newly acquired
I'd be at peace and I'd have no desire
If I'd lived right
There would be cherubs with tiny harps arrows and bows
I'd have a halo and a flowing white robe
I'd be enfolded by a celestial light
If I'd lived right
But I'm feeling hot and bothered under the collar
I feel the sweat breaking out on my brow
I feel the heat and I know it's the passion
The love I can't disavow
If this is a dream wake me up now
If this is a movie let's edit these scenes out
It would be a PG instead of an X-rated life
If I'd lived right
Some would call me a cheat call me a liar
Say that I've been defeated by the basest desired
Yes I have strayed and succumbed to my vices
But I tried to live right
But I have no regrets no guilt in my heart
I only feel sadness for any pain that I've caused
I guess I wouldn't bother to worry at all
If I'd lived right
Do you live by the book do you play by the rules?
Do you care what is thought by others about you?
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you life for the future the present the past?
If there is one thing I know I know I will die
If anyone cares some stranger my critique my life
I may be revered or defamed and decried
But I tried to live right

Merry Chrismas
Not many of us celebrating this Christmas actually understand what Christmas is, its history and reason. I can categorically tell you there is no place in the Bible where Christ asked his followers to celebrate his birthday (if there is any please paste let me see it with reasonable proof). Many celebrate because every one else is celebrating; some base on their common idea that it is the day the saviour of the world was born hence it is worth celebrating; some don't even know the essence of the day and hence, jam pack the whole idea claiming "whether it was the day Jesus was born or not everyone is celebrating we would not be the ones to be left out" others celebrate for the fear of being labelled.
Is the popular December 25 the actual date that the Lord Jesus was born? the question poses nude to many. Categorically, not until now many have never asked themselves this question.
A common phenomenon in Nigeria is people criticising the actions, attitudes and beliefs of other people without considering theirs.
Am not here to talk about racial cases or here to convert atheist into believers am just trying to say is when we were younger our parents often ensured that whatever we want to embark on there was this form of research to the background of the action(s) so we do not fall a prey.
The fact is Jesus was not born on December, 25. (for further info reply to this link www.biblestandardministries.com, jollyjews@yahoo.com, adetolajulius@gmail.com, mmckenziefelix@yahoo.co.uk) For a titbit, Jesus was born October, 1; according to the Bible, Jewish Historians. How did they arrive at this date? study the Life and Death of John the Baptist as stated by the Bible.
Secondly, research shows that 25 December was a date set forth to worship the God of the Sun by a set of worshipers. On this day, it was realized that Christians joined in the celebrations hence, the Leaders of the American Christians decided among itself according to them, thought it wise to institute the celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ which apparently emerged into Christmas.
While am not against this dogmas, am against the ideology of it being the day Christ was born. THe Christian leaders may apparently see nothing wrong with it, but a closer look shows they have dug a deep pit where majority of Christians have fallen into called 'IGNORANCE'. Majority of Christians are blinded on this topic and since from birth many have been thought this dogmas and it remains in their heart many till death except those who by some means break these scales of their iris.
Next time you celebrate, ask yourself WHY?

The Bible Standard Ministeries
The Bible Standard came into existence through the efforts of Professor Paul S. L. Johnson and Professor Raymond G. Jolly, who installed its headquarters in Pennsylvania.
From their studies of the Scriptures they came to the understanding that God’s Plan of Salvation is far greater in scope and His mercy much more extensive than have been previously recognized.
They set their goals to make this wonderful message available to as many as had a “hearing ear,” and were dedicated to the accomplishment of this goal.
They taught that Bible doctrine is interpreted correctly only when it is done in harmony with every other Scripture passage and teaching in the Word. The Bible Standard holds to this belief today.
This is specifically for those who think that Nyeche, Michael Felix is a pagan and doesn't believe in God. I believe in God from another perspective, from which I understand that He is God.
I worship in a worldwide interdenominational non-sectarian and non-profit making christian organisation whose sole aim is to study God's word come rain or shine

HEAVEN'S GATE
I don't believe that Heaven waits
For only those who congregate
I like to think that God is love
He's down below and up above
He knows who does and doesn't
And am just an ordinary man
Sometimes I wonder who I am
....

I like to think that God is love

THE HELL OF THE BIBLE
A correct understanding of this subject has become almost a necessity to every Christian steadfastness. For centuries it has been the teaching of “Orthodoxy”, of all shades, that God, before creating man had created a great abyss of fire and terrors, capable of containing all the billions of the human family which He purposed to bring into being; that this abyss He had named “Hell”; and that all of the promises and threatening of the Bible were designed to deter as many as possible from wrong-doing so as to avoid making this awful place their perpetual home.
As knowledge increases, and superstitions fade, this monstrous view of the Divine arrangement and character of God is losing its force; and thinking people cannot but disbelieve the legend, myth, better still fallacy which used to be and is still being illustrated on church walls. Some now claim that the place is literal, but the fire symbolic, etc., while others repudiate the doctrine of “hell” and truer ideas of the great, wise, just and loving Creator prevail, I am alarmed to notice that the tendency with all who abandon this long-revered doctrine is towards doubt, scepticism, infidelity and fear.
Why should this be the case when the mind is merely being delivered from an error, many would ask? I answer that it is because many Christian people have so long been taught that the foundations of this teaching of hell is God’s word- the Bible-. Consequently, to whatever degree that belief in hell is shaken, to that extent their faith in the bible as the Revelation of is shaken also; so that those who have dropped their belief in a hell of some kind of endless torment, are often open infidels and scoffers at God’s Word.
Secondly, Christians are trapped in traditions; they are trapped in the dogmas of dead men. This is why often you hear such expressions as “in our church it is advised not to listen to other teachings; in our church we don’t go to other peoples ceremony; etc.” it is often about what the church or the pastor said or says and not what the bible says. The book of 1Thesallonica says you should prove al things- all things- but most Christians discriminate most things because the pastor says you shouldn’t do this. In Nigeria for instance, it is popular to see Christians drive Jehovah Witnesses out of their home because they believe they are blasphemy, it is also popular to see Jehovah Witnesses not going to functions in other churches and even devotions at other churches because they believe others are not teaching what they think is the “truth”. It is popular to see a Christian not talking to a muslim or arguing on how wrong a muslim is instead of reasoning along with them. How then do you intend to learn and grow and even teach others when you have been limited to the dogmas and confines of “your church or the pastor’s church”? Learning is a two way thing, if you want the Unbelievers to listen to you listen to them.
Guided by the Lord’s providence to a realisation that the Bible as well as its Divine Author teaches nothing on this subject derogatory to God’s character, nor to an intelligent reason, that therefore faith in God and His Word may be re-established in the hearts of His people, on a better and reasonable foundation.
That the advocates of the doctrine of eternal torture have little or no faith in it is evident from the fact that it has no power over their course of action. While the denominations of Christendom sustain the doctrine that eternal torment and endless, hopeless despair will constitute the punishment of the wicked, they are mostly quite at ease in following the wicked to take their course, while they pursue the even tenor of their way. Chiming bells and pealing organs, artistic choirs and costly edifices, upholstered pews and polished oratory, which more and more avoid any reference to this alarming theme, afford rest and entertainment to fashionable congregations that gather on the Lord’s day, and are known to the world as the churches of Christ and representatives of his doctrines. But they seem little concerned about the welfare of the multitude or even themselves and their own families. One would naturally presume though that with such awful possibilities in view they would be almost frantic in their effort to rescue the perishing.
I cannot imagine how sincere believers of this doctrine can go peacefully from day to day about the ordinary affairs of life, or meet in elegance on Sunday to hear an esay from the pulpit on peculiar topics often advertised. Could they do so while believing all the time that fellow mortals are dying at the rate of one hundred a minute, and entering
“That lone land of deep despair,” where
“No God regards their bitter prayer”?
If they really believe this few ‘saints’ could complacently sit there and think of those hurrying every moment into that awful state described by that good, well meaning, but greatly deluded man Isaac Watts (whose heart was immeasurably warmer and larger than that which he ascribed to Jehovah God when he wrote the Hymn-
“Tempest of angry fire shall roll
To blast the rebel worm,
And beat upon the naked soul
In one eternal storm.”
People often become frantic with grief when friends have been caught in some terrible accident or diseases though they know they will soon be relieved by death; yet they claim some knowingly and other especially the followers unknowingly that God is less loving than themselves, and that He can look with indifference, if not with delight, at billions of His master piece, His creatures enduring an eternity of torture far more than the term terrible which He has prepared for them and prevents any form of escape forever. Not only so, but they expect that they will literally get into Abraham’s bosom and will then look across the gulf and see and hear the agonies of whom now they love and weep over; and they imagine that they will be so changed, and become so like their present idea of God, so hardened against all pity, and so barren of love and sympathy. It baffles me how they will delight in such a God and a plan. Some go as far as believing their neighbours who are in the other faiths; whom God asked them to love as themselves would are signage citizens for this perpetual land of torture.
What amuses me most is that these otherwise sensible men and women, so much love their fellows, establish hospitals, orphanages, asylums and crave for a better and balance society, prevent cruelty even to the brute creation still believe this doctrine and do not for once stop to reason the issue out and investigating its authority!
This is a mere idea of man. It is an agreement to the Devil’s first lie in the Garden when the Lord told Adam “thou shall surely die” in contrast the Serpent noted “thou shall not die”. Seeing then the unreasonableness of man’s idea(s), I intend to critically view the teachings of the bible and the history of the word hell as well as where this doctrine hatched in the dark ages is coming from in the next article and am sure after that many would understand that the “Wages of sin is death (not eternal torture in a hell of fire) and the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
